From the moment you arrive, there’s a sense of familiarity — an unpretentious spot where the focus is on honest food made with care, served up quickly to locals who know the routine well. It’s the kind of place where the hum of early risers and neighborhood regulars blends with the sizzle of griddles and the comforting aroma of fresh breakfast sandwiches.

Food at Johnny’s Hots is rooted in classic Philly flavors, a hearty embrace of the region’s renowned hot sausages, cheesesteaks, and breakfast staples. The menu is a reflection of local taste and tradition — familiar, straightforward, and deeply satisfying.

Beyond the food, the experience is tied to the community it serves. This family-owned spot carries a sense of continuity, where neighbors gather, conversations flow easily over quick cups of coffee, and mornings are made a little brighter. It’s the kind of place that’s as much about the moments shared as the sandwiches handed over the counter.

Wow. Pleasantly surprised. We were staying at the Switch House wedding venue across the street and walked over to Johnny Hots. Super clean and friendly staff. The iced coffee was better and less expensive than my daily Dunkin. My sister had the eggs sandwich with broccoli rab. Highly recommend. The park across the street is lovely too.

Even the breakfast is very good the lines mite get long at times but Jonny cooks good and fast so you will be good !!! My go to is a hot sausage with the works or at breakfast hot sausage with egg cheese and fried onions with a side of potatoes ..you can’t go wrong here …if it’s nice out you can go across the street to penntreaty park sit down and eat your Johnnys meal ! Mostly all workers in line just a nice environment around here ! Also I don’t know who owns the atm on ur parking lot but tell them to keep up with that !

This is the place. I have been looking for exactly this for years. It’s the perfect breakfast sandwich. An absolutely excellent family-owned and run joint with amazing freshly made and reasonably priced bacon egg and cheese sandwiches. What more can one possibly need? Great iced coffee too and a side of scrapple which was also excellent. Inexpensive too. I will be a loyal customer and honestly can’t recommend this place enough. It’s cash only, but very much worth the ATM trip. Don’t use their ATM out front though, it has a totally ridiculous $3 or $4 surcharge. Considering many of their sides/additions cost $1 or less, the first time I stopped by I actually left. I didn’t have cash and the ATM was just stupid to use. But a total 10/10 experience otherwise.

I've driven past Johnny Hots a thousand times and finally decided to stop in and give them a try. It's a cash-only establishment, but they do have an ATM with a $3 fee. I stopped in at 7 am, so I didn't have to wait long at all. The service was good and fast. The sandwich itself was pretty good, but for $7.50, I think it should be bigger. If you're in the neighborhood, give them a try. I just wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐

If you're visiting philly you need to stop at this long standing hometown favorite. With more than 60 years of serving philly, you're guaranteed to leave with a full belly, and a happiness in your mouth. Located just minutes from center city, 95, and Penn's landing. Johnny hots serves up delicious hot sausage sandwiches, along with cheesesteaks, burgers, and other delicious treats.

Here is a REAL Chicken steak. Fresh marinated chicken. NO fake chicken here. William Penn and the Native Americans who broke bread across the street would approve.

I was happy to try Johnn'ys Hots for the first time today even though I've been in the neighborhood for years. I heard that the hot sausage was the pick for a top choice there. The sandwich was prepared fast and tasted fresh and delicious. The hot sausage had a moderate spice level with great flavor. I enjoyed that and a cup of coffee at Penn Treaty Park across the street.
